Re: Microsoft Update 3125574 ("Convenience rollup update")

A follow-up on this: KB3035583 is removable after installing the KB3184143 update released late September 2016. Actually installing KB3184143 should automatically remove KB3035583 and other GWX related stuff. I also found out that the KB3125574 convenience rollup update does NOT include the KB281860...

Re: AutoPatcher keeps installing same updates

A follow up on this: do NOT install KB3042058 anymore! - it causes some conflicts with Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) v4.9 as I read here . If KB3042058 was installed on other Win7 machines AND the MSE 4.9 app was installed, uninstall KB3042058, then uninstall MSE 4.9, reboot and re-install MSE...

Re: Unable to get updates or install service packs after Vista system recovery

The installation DVD ISO image I mentioned earlier contains starter, home basic, home premium, business & ultimate editions of Vista; all at SP2 level. The product key being entered at setup will determine what edition gets installed. Visit this site on how to speed up Windows Update scans on Wi...

Re: Microsoft Update 3125574 ("Convenience rollup update")

I've installed KB3125574 around the end of May 2016 and it does NOT contain KB3035583.
The KB3035583 update must be uninstalled separately through the Installed Updates list and KB3125574 does not remove it.

Hope that answers your question.

Re: Windows 7 SP1 x64 Update Order

Thanks. Good to Know. Had a problem with MS updates after a clean install of Windows 7 SP1 x64. Was stuck on checking for updates ... forever. Found that the Update Client included with the package needed to be updated to kb3138612 (before installation, disable auto-check for updates and stop wuaus...

Re: Windows 7 Pre SP1 failed

One note though, if you install the rollup package (KB3161608) for June 2016, this will fix the issues with Windows Update (successfully repaired the issue on 2 machines) The KB3161608 update rollup should NOT be applied to some Win7 SP1 systems using certain Intel Bluetooth devices as KB3161608 (a...

Re: Unable to get updates or install service packs after Vista system recovery

Google search for this ISO DVD image labeled "en_windows_vista_with_sp2_x86_dvd_342266.iso" It was available only to MSDN/TechNet subscribers but it contains all the editions of Windows Vista x86/32bit with both SP1 & SP2 already integrated or "slipstreamed". Create a DVD wit...

Re: Question for vista users

The KB3153199 update for Vista/Win7 no longer fixes the Windows Update search/scan problem as of June 14. Download & install the KB3161664 (MS16-073) win32k.sys security update instead, which will temporarily cure the problem from June 14 to July 11. Note that KB3161664 supersedes/replaces KB315...

Re: AutoPatcher Windows 7 (x64) Updates

can you remove KB3004394 from the list of Win7 updates? It's no longer needed and is obsolete (and superseded by the KB3033929, KB3040272 & KB3125574 updates)
