Re: DOTNET4_PARENT missing or wrong order?
I could cleanup the current version, but I'm not that fluent in MS patch peculiarities so you'll have to tell me more specifically what sort of cleanup you have in mind. I don't use AP for any bulk or regular updating, just wanted to keep a static XP "SP4" for the future. Is there no way t...

Re: 2 XP critical updates that keep appearing unapplied
I guess the WMP one shouldn't be hidden, or else it will require running AP multiple times to apply the new patches that appeared. My "feature suggestions" from the other thread (color coding, icons, etc.) might make it clearer why some things show but can't be installed, or what dependenc...

Re: A few AP ideas
How about adding to the updater/downloader a way to multi-select, separately from the packages, the wanted OSes. This can be used to further filter what's downloaded. For example, the dotNET packages include files for XP to Win8. Some are irrelevant to some OSes. On XP that's about 220MB of useless ...

KB961118 is dotNet-related and duplicate
KB961118 is also present in the dotNET package . I'm not sure if it's to be considered a dotNET update or a Windows update that fixes a side effect of dotNET, but it's installation checks for dotNET3 keys, as shown in KB961118.log : 0.532: In Function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx faile...

Re: 2 XP critical updates that keep appearing unapplied
End of Service thing still shows. But maybe items just don't hide, as long as their parent component is present? And it makes sense for some things. KB2834904-v2 is probably an update relevant only with WMP11 (or 9?), but should show even when can't be installed in case WMP11 is also chosen to be in...

Re: DOTNET4_PARENT missing or wrong order?
This is on XP, without dotNET4 installed. I guess the problem is this, in __dotnet40.apm : # Do not display 4.0 if updated with 4.5 ComponentFile=windows:\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\WPF\PresentationFramework.Aero.dll ComponentVersion=<4.0.30319.17929 The component doesn't show if this file d...

Is there a commandline parameter to skip hash checking on startup?

2 XP critical updates that keep appearing unapplied
There are two updates under "Critical" that keep on reappearing as unapplied after installing them:
KB2834904-v2 (Media Format Runtime 11...)
KB2934207 (Remove & Disable End of Service...)
BTW, why's Disable End of Service under "Critical"?

A few AP ideas
A few ideas regarding the core AP: * List unapplied updates first. * A toggle to hide updates that can't be applied because of missing dependencies (or just show them greyed out at the end of the list, or an icon). * A toggle to hide already applied updates. * A text describing an update's dependenc...
