You may be aware that this update causes issues with some user's systems, Microsoft have created a file to remove this from your system.

Install KB3024777 to fix an issue with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3024777

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... 77-x86.exe

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... -amd64.exe

Please note that KB3004394 has been removed from both Windows 7 releases, so if you have already downloaded you will need to do so once again..

This is not unusual, the update KB3004394,may cause issues under certain conditions, thus this would be remedied by installing the update KB3024777.

You can check if the update is installed by searching in windows:\System32\catroot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} for KB3004394 and also KB3024777.

KB3024777 is no longer needed as Microsoft issued revised KB3004394 updates on February 2015.

KB3024777 is for removing the "original" KB3004394 patch released in December 2014 and not the revised V2 editions of KB3004394 which were released in early Feb. 2015 - that I know for sure.
Anyways, KB3004394-V2 corrected the problems that the original patches caused.

Edit: although it's rather moot as the big KB3033929 update seems to supersede the KB3004394 update, according to MS Update Catalog.
