Microsoft Update 3125574 ("Convenience rollup update")

Post by liquidspark »

Is this useful? Does it install 3035583, which has become an annoyance, and if it does install that Windows 10 update nag, is 3035583 removable after installing 3125574?

I've installed KB3125574 around the end of May 2016 and it does NOT contain KB3035583.
The KB3035583 update must be uninstalled separately through the Installed Updates list and KB3125574 does not remove it.

Hope that answers your question.

A follow-up on this: KB3035583 is removable after installing the KB3184143 update released late September 2016. Actually installing KB3184143 should automatically remove KB3035583 and other GWX related stuff.

I also found out that the KB3125574 convenience rollup update does NOT include the KB2818604 & KB3064209 "CPU Microcode" updates for AMD and Intel CPUs. So Win7 users need to install these two CPU microcode updates in order for Win7 to function properly on recent AMD & Intel processors.

You might want to check on KB31978767 and KB3197868 for Win7 w/SP1 - both have to with a security issue Google mentioned to Microsoft - was not automatically downloaded using Windows Update - I had to search for it.
