Why are there two Adobe Readers? Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.10 and Adobe Reader DC. Both of these show. Should there be only one? Thanks

No there shouild be two - Adobe Reader XI is for XP and Vista, Adobe Acrobat Reader is for 7 and above - XP, from all indications is still more popular than 8 or later. :D

My vote is that both be listed - see above.

Ok then should Adobe Reader XI be grayed out if you on Windows 7 and above and let you just click on Adobe Reader DC for Windows 7 and above. Just a thought. Thanks.

You want to be able to download any release from any supported OS AP/APUP will run from - download using 7, updating XP. Installing is another story, updates that don't apply to a certain OS should be grayed-out or hidden.

One option is to list the OS in the Title - Adobe Reader XI (XP,Vista) || Adobe Acrobat Reader (7,8,10) - as an example.

Thanks for the input so far members, namely ChrisJ, DesertJerry and parkd1. As I see this was the dilemma faced when adding the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, whether to change the Adobe Reader to just XP and Vista or to leave it as it currently stands. There maybe those who prefer to keep updating Adobe Reader and not wanting to upgrade to DC, further investigation may be warranted to find these answers.

Will remain as is for the time being, hoping that more members will will voice their opinions. More to come....

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has been updated July 14, now available

Adobe Reader has been moved to releases2 to avoid confusion. So for those wishing to download instructions as follows:

Start APUP, click Options, insert "2" (without quotes) after releases, click OK, a new list will be displayed.
To return APUP to the main list, start APUP, click Options, click "Default"

Adobe Reader (XI) was updated back in July and I missed this, so have updated the release for those still requiring it. A word of mention, those still using version XI, it would be advisable to keep the installer in a safe place for future installs -- the updates require the base major version to be already installed.
Version is 11.0.12.18

Remember this release is on the releases 2 list.

Start APUP, click Options, insert "2" (without quotes) after releases, click OK, a new list will be displayed. Link is http://www.autopatcher.net/releases2.list
To return APUP to the main list, start APUP, click Options, click "Default"
