Re: Extras Addon Pack

@parkd1 -- Java 8 not a mainstream release as yet.. current is version 7 update 51

After doing some reading it appears that Oracle has removed support for Windows XP with Java 8

I installed it and it told me I have remove the one that was installed. Thought it would just an upgrade. Is there a way around this so it will work Auto Patcher?

When Java 8 becomes official and available to the public then the autopatcher releases will updated to reflect this... so for the time being the decision is yours to which Java you keep installed

Further research into Java 8 has resulted in the following results:

Oracle like Microsoft has removed support for Windows XP -- this includes Windows XP x64, therefore Windows Server 2003 also

The download links I used for testing may change so will await for for more stable links --- scripts will be updated as soon as available. For those of you wishing to download the latest early, here is the link :
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 33155.html

Remember to accept the license agreement
You must accept the Oracle Binary Code License Agreement for Java SE to download this software.
You will need to manually uninstall older versions of Java, this is a personal choice so up the individual

Don't hold your breath for this being included in auotpatcher. Been doing some reading and it appears that Java 8 was supposedly been released back in 2012 but with the security loopholes in Version 7 was held back until these were fixed..

As of April 8, 2014 Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP and therefore it is no longer a supported platform. XP users will be unable to install Java 8. Windows users must upgrade to Windows Vista or later to install Java 8.
