my windows update is gone mad ...sorry

Post by sixcentgeorge »

hello dudes , i am pleased to see you are always alive ....i read from you that because of M$ you were quitting .. :D

i come today because i have big troubles with this f******g wupdate

have a look a this gallery : http://imgur.com/a/uu4iC
first image is when i boot, second is after few second when i press check for update ...the last one shows installed updates

i installed update , then i was stuck with two that were impossible to install , so i used MicrosoftFixit50202.msi without and with agressives options...but the result is still the same .
i wonder if i can use autopatcher on my windows and if that will repair it ? how should i use autopatcher ?

i have other question about autopatcher : can i apply it on win7 x64 sp1 install files ?
can i prevent ie to be updated and malicious software removal + windefend update files to be installed of auto patcher ?

[.net is an horror it needs twice the Mo of windows ...]

Which version of Microsoft Windows is causing you the issues ???

Checking the gallery of files I couldn't see the version, unless of course that you are referring to Microsoft Windows 10 Technical Preview. If this is the case am sorry can't help on the issues, you need to search the internet for solutions.

Auopatcher will install updates on the following Operating Systems: Windows XP x86 SP3, Windows XP x64 SP2/ Windows Server 2003 x64 SP2, Vista x86/LHSERVER x86, Seven x86 SP1, Seven x64 SP1, Eight 1 x86, Eight 1 x64..

my windows is 7 x64 sp1 , the list of installed update is a bit too long for 10 ;'] [ a very good os indeed ]
so can use autopatcher on my windows and if that will repair it ? how should i use autopatcher ?

i have other question about autopatcher : can i apply it on win7 x64 sp1 install files ?
as i will download all files , i prefer no to do it again ...and prevent another crashed situation

can i prevent ie to be updated and malicious software removal + windefend update files to be installed of auto patcher ?

With autopatcher you can install updates to your system, this may not correct the issue with Windows Update. Will do a search and see what can be done to repair your Windows Update... keep you posted

UPDATE: found this that may help http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... =windows-7

There is also System Update Readiness Tool, the latest will be online on 10/28/2014 --- Please note that this tool can be a large download ~ 500 Mb or more for Win 7 x64. Link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

With updating Windows 7 x64, it is advisable to install the Critical updates for your system. For the Recommended (NonCritical) selections is your decision what to install and what not to.
Saying that it is your choice which version of Internet Explorer to install, Malicious Software Removal Tool is a separate release which you may or may not want to download.
Autopatcher no longer has any options for Windows Defender.

i already used that tool of 540 Mo and MSfixit before , they had no results so yesterday i did a restore of a backup of previous day . today i used your tool that made me a message to report to you
i made screen capture of it, the two first images of the album
http://imgur.com/a/r7TyG

then i looked elsewhere and found a russian that make a patcher all in one exe that i used : UpdatePack7R2-14.10.20.exe
it worked a bit..

here is its log:
The installation log of UpdatePack 7 / 2008 R2 / 14.10.20

Installation finish time - 15:58:10 24.10.2014
The number of installed updates - 23
Total installation time of UpdatePack - 04:51
Operation of the program has been successfully finished

then i rebooted and tried to use windows update ...with no luck....same as yesterday .
so i retried autopatcher that worked and crashe like shows the final image..
i uploaded the log file of 97 ko at mega : https://mega.co.nz/#!rMwCjZAJ!yip8L7bOn ... DvYLND5cNE

may be that will help you

i reused the UpdatePack 7 / 2008 R2 on my install.wim so that should be good with next install
i wonder if autopatcher does the same ? even with the .net updates and others

There is another alternative which could cure this issue with Windows Update.. Give it a try and report back with the results

How to Delete a Windows Update Cache

1. Open Command Prompt by Start -> type “cmd“; right-click and Run as Administrator
2. On the Command Prompt, type “net stop wuauserv“.
This is done so that you will terminate the windows automatic update service to allow you to delete the cache files
3. Type “cd /d %windir%”
This takes you to the Windows directory
4. Type “rd /s SoftwareDistribution“
This command deletes the directory and all sub files and directories.
Wait a few seconds… and the cache has been purged.
5. Type “net start wuauserv“
This restarts the windows automatic update service.
6. Close the Command window

Reboot and try to run your updates again.

i tried what you said but it is not the solution ...
it s a windows i made with latest ntlite so it should be normal...
i finished to install a new computer with the updated win7x64sp1 .
i was able to update .net from4.5 to 4.51
then after trying to install browser-choice that failed , i was not able to install the 4 last update, all time same error.... may be that error comes from the fact ie was not my main browser and google chrome was already installed .

i would have tried autopatcher , but i stopped it update .net when i saw he was going to download 1.5 Go ...mat be you should make your tool read the windows update "selection" of updates ...[ that is never complete when update has update ]

and i have an exemple : by installing directly the update 4.51 of .net it spared me 200 Mo to download ;'[
all updates of 4.5.....
