Autopacher verification failed verification

Post by lcys73 »

Hello.

I installed Autopacher to repair the Windows Updater failure to install ANY update for a freshly installed Windows 7.

The Autopacher starts working and recognize that there is 287 update available but when it comes to finish downloading the updates it fails to finish it. It reports that "one or more file failed the verification. please rerun the Autopacher of if the problem persist contact the forum"

I tried few time to rerun even after a restart but it didn't helped.
Any useful suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Laci

Hi Laci, welcome :)

A quick heads up, the forum is undergoing a reinstall and funkiness remains -- expect bugs when posting.

The files failed issue can be a few things, from the script itself, dead links, bad internet connection, security software interferring with AutoPatcher... regardless, you followed the logical first step, run the script again. This didn't appear to work.

The next steps are usually similar for everyone, we need a log file with details about the failing script(s). I responded to another user a few days ago having problems with the Vista release. Read my comments and post a log accordingly, all of it is good reference for any AP user.

See here -> viewtopic.php?p=4739#p4739

FYI, the AP Win7 SP1 scripts target Win7 SP1 OSes, I noticed you only stated 7!!!

If you have questions or need clarification on something I wrote please ask away.

As far as I can tell the issue is only with THIS forum the wiki, old forum, and autopatcher files should not be interrupted.

Sorry to interrupt. Having suffered the same problem and got no further. I do have a log file of the error but it is 19 pages long so not sure how much is of use here. Most is a list of the updates that Win7 Updater can't see or download. Non windows software can do updates only MS has the problem. Repeated tries with Autopatcher now report no compatible items found.

My error log first page says

Help can always be found here, Nigel.

There are a few reasons for errors and these have already been mentioned. If your issues are running Autopatcher for the first time on a release, it is advisable to run it a second time, most errors can be eliminated except those where the file no longer exists or has been updated and download location is different to original file.

Just as a matter of interest, last evening I downloaded the Windows Seven x86 from scratch, had a file verification error (which has now been corrected), all files were present an accounted for (Official).
Other members will be able to shed more light on the subject to help you out.

BTW Welcome

If you read the log file it says switch to the new list. Click options and change ".com" to ".net"
