application error

Post by Mehdi.S »

Hello guys.

Since two month ago, every time that I tried to update autopatcher, its engine, or modules, I got this error message:

Application Error
In HashModule.HashFile at line 0

I tried the latest version, but got same message.

I'm on Win7 x64 SP1

This error will be answered by ViroMan..

As a suggestion to get you going, try downloading the latest APUP from the download link at the top of the forum, extract the archive to your APUP directory, start APUP, and select the AP Engine for your first download...

Once you successfully downloaded then try downloading your required releases, if any errors please post the log files..

Thanks

I did this before posting the topic. The last version is 1.4.38.

I don't know what's wrong with autopatcher since 1.4.37.

Here is the apup.log

wowy.

It is saying it could not get windows built in hash functions to shake hands with it. I will check the code and get back to you on it. You are possibly missing a dll file or its corrupt. It is an important thing that this works for you.

edit:
AdvAPI32.dll This is a VERY important dll file. Should be in your windows\system32 directory

Windows Ultimate 7 x64
AdvAPI32.dll
Bytes: 878,080
Ver:6.1.7601.22436

Thanks for reply.

Mine is v6.1.7601.18247. I updated my OS today, but mine has different version comparing yours !!

The error is weird, because I checked in on Win XP SP3 and it worked fine. The problem is on Win 7 OS; but I don't know why !

Tell you what... I will give you a copy of mine. I duno if this will fix it though. KEEP your copy Just move it to your desktop and place this where it was.

This dll will be different versions depending on your OS. Windows XP and up should have this dll. Since we have the same OS it should be fine for you to have the copy I have.

This dll in system32 and syswow64 can not be overwritten.

I put it in apup folder, but saw same error message.

It seems there is something wrong on my OS. :(

Sorry to hear about that. I will add a bit more error code in there for the next release. Until then, do you require a copy of the older AP?

Thanks. I have v1.4.26; but when I run it, it says "switch your apup to http://www.autopatcher.net/releases.list". It wants to update itself and then, the above mentioned error appears.

What should I do with it?

Do what it says. Run Apup hit the options button. In there you will find the url that apup uses to download the main list and change .com to .net and you will see the proper list.
