Give the new AP a try. This one checks registry path if it fails to get a path via the API.

which new AP you are talking about. The 1st thread still have version 6.1.7 which gives same error as,

hmm... I wonder... Is the server version as anal about capitalization in folder names as linux is? If that is the case that may be why its not working. I have it looking for <windows path>/system32 Not <windows path>/System32. The other versions of windows don't care and know what I am looking for. Next release will have that changed in it.

Which new one your are talking about? is it 6.1.8?

I download AP 6.1.8 but gives same error. The screen shot & log files are attached.

the move from .com to .net should be irrelevant to your issue. are you saying a previous version of apup.exe ran fine on your system, if so, what version? ViroMan might be able to narrow down the code changes between versions! Why did you wait so long to drop this bit of info, i read your posts and you dont mention once that apup had actually worked for you, you made it appear it had never ran on server 2008, at least thats the way i read the thread.
