Java 8 released
Re: Java 8 released
Question what is the new Java? Is it update 65 or 66? Thanks
Re: Java 8 released
The 2 BundleId's are for 8u65 x64 & x86, according to Java.com. You might have also noticed the patch set release (8u66) which usually follows the critical patch release of Java. The "critical patch" is broader and all users of JRE should update. The "patch set" are fixes for specific cases added to the critical patch and should only be installed if you're suffering the problems the patch set release fixes - this is the way I understand it.
...critical patch update = all users should update, this is the release found in AP.
...patch set update = specific bugs with specific fixes added to the critcal patch update, not for everyone.
Any fix found necessary for the common Java user will be in the next critical patch update, again, this is the way I have understood it.

Re: Java 8 released
Thanks! Unfortunately...
The quote marks (") above were in the error message.
Per AP log:
Not sure why it complained about /s, it's definitely a valid switch!
Per https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/t ... tions.html
Code: Select all
Unable to install Java
There are errors in the following switches:
"/s
";.
Check that the commands are valid and try again.
Per AP log:
Code: Select all
Executing command: "C:\AutoPatcher-v6_1_40 - TEST\modules\AddOns\Java_Files\jre-8u66-windows-i586.exe" /s
Per https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/t ... tions.html
options are options with specified values separated by spaces. Use the same options as listed in Table 20-1, "Configuration File Options". In addition, you may use the option /s for the JRE Windows Offline Installer to perform a silent installation.
